Over the course of the weekend, Truro had the pleasure of welcoming visitors from Morlaix, France, one of the towns twinned with Truro. The visitors arrived late on Friday 29th May 2026, and enjoyed an action-packed weekend, which included visits to Pendennis Castle in Falmouth and Flicka Donkey Sanctuary, as well as several group meals.
On the morning of Tuesday 2nd June, the group met the Town Crier, Lionel Knight, at Truro Cathedral for a photo opportunity. They then proceeded to the Truro City Council offices, where they met the Mayor of Truro, Councillor Chris Wells, who greeted the guests and local members of the Truro-Morlaix Twinning Association at a welcome civic reception.
This year marks the 47th anniversary of the twinning with Morlaix, France – a friendship that began in 1979 and continues to thrive.
