TECHNICAL INFORMATION ABOUT THIS WEBSITE’S ACCESSIBILITY

Truro City Council is committed to making its website accessible, in accordance with the Public Sector Bodies (Websites and Mobile Applications) (No. 2) Accessibility Regulations 2018.

Compliance status

The website has been tested against the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 AA standard.

This website is partially compliant with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines version 2.2 AA standard, due to the non-compliances listed below.

Non-accessible content

The content listed below is non-accessible for the following reasons.

Images and other non-text content
Some images and other non-text content do not have suitable text alternatives, which can make the information unavailable to screen reader users. This does not meet WCAG 2.2 AA success criterion 1.1.1 (Non-text Content).

Colour contrast
Some text does not meet the minimum colour contrast ratio of 4.5:1, which may make content difficult to read for people with low vision or colour vision deficiency. This does not meet WCAG 2.2 AA success criterion 1.4.3 (Contrast (Minimum)).

Forms and CAPTCHA
The CAPTCHA on our contact form requires a drag interaction, which may be difficult to use with a keyboard, switch device, or speech input. This may not meet WCAG 2.2 AA success criterion 2.5.7 (Dragging Movements). If you cannot use the form, you can contact us by email or phone instead.

Non-compliance with the accessibility regulations

The Council are working to fix these issues. When the Council publishes new content it aims to ensure it meets WCAG 2.2 AA, and it will update or replace older content where practicable.

Disproportionate burden

At present, Truro City Council has not made any disproportionate burden claims for this website.

Content that’s not within the scope of the accessibility regulations

At present, Truro City Council has not identified any content that is outside the scope of the accessibility regulations for this website. If this changes (for example, for older non-essential documents published before 23 September 2018), The Council will update this statement.
