On Sunday 14th June 2026, Truro City Council held the annual Civic Service at Truro Cathedral.
This year’s service brought together councillors, civic dignitaries, community representatives, and members of the public for a reflective Choral Evensong, celebrating civic life in Truro.
The sermon was delivered by the Bishop of St Germans, the Right Reverend James Treasure, focusing on theme of leadership. The prayers of intercession were led by the Mayor’s Chaplain, Reverend Andy Boorne. The service was conducted by Reverend Canon Ali Hogger Gadsby and Canon Sue Wallace.
The Mayor of Truro, Councillor Chris Wells, was accompanied by the Mayoress, Nicola Carveth, along with Truro City Councillors, Town Clerk David Rodda, Town Crier Lionel Knight, Mace Bearers, the Mayor’s Cadet, and invited guests from across the city and county.
Truro City Council extends its appreciation to all who contributed to the service and to those who attended.
