From Monday 20th April 2026, essential tree removal works will be taking place at Boscawen Park as part of Truro City Council’s ongoing clean up efforts following Storm Goretti in January. To ensure public safety while these works are carried out, the Riverside Walk will be temporarily closed for one week from Monday 20th April to Monday 27th April, when it is expected to reopen.
The contracted work will involve the removal of two trees that fell into the river during the storm:
- A eucalyptus tree located by the Sunny Corner end of the Riverside Walk.
- A macrocarpa tree located by the Truro Tide Gates end of the Riverside Walk.
Please refer to the map below for details of the temporary closure at Boscawen Park.

We understand this area is popular for dog walking, and we apologise for any inconvenience this may cause. We encourage dog owners to find an alternative route while the works are carried out.
As a result of the tree removal, the previously scheduled resurfacing of the Riverside Walk has been postponed. A further update on the resurfacing works will be provided once new dates are confirmed.
Truro City Council would like to thank residents and visitors to the park for their patience and understanding while these essential works are completed.
