Annual Garden and Allotments Competition 2026

To enter the 2026 Garden and Allotments Competition, please complete the form linked below. The deadline for entries is 12.00pm on Friday 19th June 2026.

All entries to be made on the form below, as set out overleaf (or obtainable from Truro Visitor Information Centre and Truro Community Library) and returned to the Parks and Amenities Officer by:

  • Post – Truro City Council, Municipal Buildings, Boscawen Street, Truro TR1 2NE
  • In person – Truro City Council Offices, First Floor, Truro Community Library, Union Place, Truro TR1 1EP, during opening hours: Monday – Thursday 9am – 5pm, Friday 9am – 4.30pm

Please note that this competition is only open to residents of Truro. Allotment tenants are automatically entered.

Truro City Council Parks Department

Truro City Council’s Parks department is responsible for the floral planting displays and hanging baskets you see on all approaches into Truro and around the City Centre you can enquire about the Councils summer and winter planting services by contacting the Parks and Amenities department, Municipal Buildings, Boscawen Street, Truro TR1 2NE or email parks@truro.gov.uk or call 01872274766.

These displays not only bring a feel good factor to the City for people who live, work and visit, but enable the City to enter the South West in Bloom competition run by the Royal Horticulture Society. Truro has received great success in this competition. The Truro in Bloom group was planted in 1974 and has been growing successfully over the years.

  • 2023 – South West in Bloom Gold & Britain in Bloom Large Town Gold
  • 2022 – Portman Cup and Gold Award, Best Portfolio, & South West in Bloom Silver Salver
  • 2019 – South West in Bloom Gold Award and Portman Cup, Alf Crouch Memorial Award, Best Roundabout in Country, Serco Cup, & Abs Trophy Best Municipal display in South West
  • 2018 – Britain in Bloom Winner & South West in Bloom Gold Award
  • 2017 – Britain in Bloom Large Town Gold and category winner, Amberol Trophy, South West in Bloom Gold Award, & Sargent Trophy Joint Winner
  • 2016 – South West in Bloom Gold Award
  • 2015 – South West in Bloom Gold Award, Portman Cup & National Champion of Champions Gold Award
  • 2014 – Britain in Bloom Large Town Category Winner, Gold Award, Britain in Bloom National Community Award, South West in Bloom Champion of Champions Trophy Joint Award and Gold Award.
