You are currently viewing Christmas in Truro 2026

Christmas returns to Truro from Saturday 21st November 2026, bringing traditional markets, late-night shopping, live entertainment, and festive events for all ages in Our Great Little City throughout November and December.

At the heart of the celebrations is Truro Christmas Market, Cornwall’s largest traditional Christmas market. Running daily on Lemon Quay from Saturday 21st November to Thursday 24th December, visitors can browse traditional wooden cabins filled with local crafts, seasonal treats, and unique gifts from Cornish makers and producers.

Festivities will extend into Boscawen Street, with the Boscawen Street Christmas Markets taking place every Wednesday and Saturday from 21st November to 23rd December. Under the glow of festoon lights, each market will feature a changing line-up of around 40 local makers, producers and traders, alongside live music, street food and seasonal treats.

Brand new for 2026, families can take part in a fun Grinch-themed City Centre Trail, inspired by the mischievous green character famous for trying to steal Christmas. More details will be announced soon.

One of the highlights of the programme will be the Father Christmas Parade on Wednesday 2nd December. Father Christmas and his sleigh will make their way through the city, accompanied by elves, dancers, live music and circus performers, marking the start of Truro’s Late Night Shopping evenings.

Late Night Shopping will return every Wednesday from 2nd – 23rd December, with many retailers staying open until 9pm. Visitors can explore Truro’s mix of high street favourites and unique independent businesses, alongside the city’s year-round indoor markets, Lemon Street Market and Pannier Market.

Free Parking after 4pm is available every day in the Edward Street and Moresk Car Parks.

From Saturday 12th December, families can enjoy a memorable Christmas experience with Father Christmas at Cornwall Museum & Art Gallery. The journey begins with festive storytelling in the Mineral Gallery, followed by the chance to meet the man himself.

The celebrations will continue through to New Year’s Eve on Thursday 31st December, when Truro will welcome 2027 with two free fireworks displays. A family-friendly display will take place at 7:30pm, followed by a second display at midnight, with both best viewed from Lemon Quay.
