Members of Truro City Council have elected Councillor Christopher Wells as the new Mayor of Truro.
Councillor Wells was proposed by Councillor Lorrie Eathorne Gibbons and seconded by Councillor Steven Webb.
Thanking the council for its support, Councillor Wells said “I am honoured to have been nominated as the Mayor of Truro and look forward to working with the new council.
“My two key priorities for the coming year are to encourage and support the growth of community groups and work with the young people of Truro”.
Councillors also elected Councillor Loic Rich as Deputy Mayor.
Following the elections, a civic ceremony to confirm the positions will be held Monday 9 June, in Truro Methodist Church, more details to follow.
