Chris Wells was first elected to the council in 1983 and has chaired the Finance & General Purposes and Planning Committees. He was conferred the title of Honorary Freeman of the City of Truro in 2015. A former member of Carrick District Council, he served on Cornwall Council from 2021 to 2025. In addition to being Vice-Chairman of the Kenwyn with St Allen Parochial Church Council and a member of the Hendra Community Group, he works actively with other residents’ groups and is a trustee & director of Young People Cornwall. He works for a frozen food delivery company. Chris is the current Mayor of Truro.
