The Finance & General Purposes Committee considers the financial position of the Council and manages corporate administration, Visit Truro, the Visitor Information Centre, Council Properties, Truro’s Library Service, Community Development, Events, and management of Lemon Quay. It also reviews the community grants three times a year.

Facilities & Properties Working Group considers options for the use of the Municipal Buildings once available for reuse & oversee the return to the building

Parks & Amenities Committee considers matters related to parks, gardens and open spaces, public cemeteries, allotments, and sports facilities.

Land at Comprigney Hill (Coosebean) Steering Group considers options for a management plan and future use of land acquired by Truro City Council at Comprigney Hill, adjacent to Coosebean

Truro Nature Recovery Forum supports the Council in developing a Local Nature Recovery Strategy for Truro and a subsequent implementation plan.

Planning & Licensing Committee provides consultation responses to the local planning authority, Cornwall Council, on planning and licensing applications which are either in the city or have a significant impact on the city.

Truro Conservation Area Advisory Committee provides advice to the Planning & Licensing Committee on consultation responses to the local planning authority for all applications that fall within the conservation area or are that of a listed building.

Truro & Kenwyn Neighbourhood Development Plan Steering Group was originally formed to create a neighbourhood development plan jointly between Truro City Council and Kenwyn Parish Council. This group now meets periodically to consider revisions to keep the plan current.

Truro Transport Strategy Working Group is a stakeholder group influencing Cornwall Council’s review of its Truro Transport Strategy.

Langarth Stewardship Steering Group works with Cornwall Council, Kenwyn Parish Council, and the appointed consultants, to explore the options for the stewardship of the public realm assets within Langarth Garden Village.

Staffing Committee is appointed to make decisions about all staffing matters, subject to budget and expenditure limits decided by the Council

City Emergency Committee supports the Council in responding to emergencies by maintaining a community emergency plan.

The Councillors are also appointed to a number of outside bodies, such as charitable trusts and community groups.
