Welcome home Denzil!

A big welcome back to Denzil, our famous wooden hedgehog, who has returned to his roundabout home in Truro following his makeover and whirlwind visits to Chelsea and the Royal Cornwall Show.

Denzil arrived back in Truro on Friday where he was greeted by the other members of his hedgehog family – Kizzy, Patricia and Cecil -who have undergone their own mini makeovers in the last few days.

It is fantastic to see Denzil back on the roundabout and reunited with his family “ said Truro Mayor Carol Swain.  “He looks amazing after his stay with artist Emma Scott at her studio in Mellingey Mill willow wood craft centre in St Issey. “

During his visit Emma and her team of six helpers spent more than 250 hours, wood cutting, wood whittling, drilling and stitching, to ensure that Denzil was fully restored for his return home.  The mini makeovers provided by Emma to the other members of the family are a temporary measure while we decide how to fund a more permanent solution.
