Press release: Truro City Council’s arrangements to livestream the funeral of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II

Since the news of the death of Queen Elizabeth II last Thursday, Truro City Council has been busy reviewing and planning for all the arrangements required during the ten-day period of national mourning. This has included investigating the options for the live streaming of the funeral on Monday 19th September.

Following a review of all the options and taking into account operational and logistical constraints, Truro City Council, working with Truro Cathedral, has arranged for a large screen to be placed within Truro Cathedral on the day for those wishing to attend a public viewing.

The Mayor of Truro, Councillor Steven Webb, said:

“I recognise that there are those in our community who wish to come together to watch the funeral of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and I am pleased to say that we have been able to arrange this working closely with the team at Truro Cathedral.”

Roger Bush, Dean of Truro Cathedral, said:

“In close association with Truro City Council, we are delighted to be able to live-stream The Queen’s state funeral from the cathedral. Please note that, on the day of the funeral, Monday 19th September, the doors will not be open until 10am. We are grateful to the Council for enabling us to host this”.
