Following the fire on Quay Street last Thursday evening, we urgently need to find accommodation in Truro for three of the residents who had to be evacuated from their homes.
The three elderly women, one of whom is 91, were forced to leave all their belongings behind when they were evacuated and, despite the best efforts of the Council and its partners, so far we have not been able to find any suitable accommodation for them in the city.
All three women are currently in temporary emergency accommodation in other parts of Cornwall but all desperately want to return to Truro as soon as possible.
We would like to hear from anyone who has a flat or any other single unit in the city which is available for use now. The units will need to be fully furnished. One of the women has mobility issues and so would need ground floor accommodation.
All three women have been through a terrible, awful experience and we want to find them somewhere suitable to live as quickly as possible so they can return to Truro.
Anyone who can help is asked to contact Sarah Jeffs at sarah@truro,gov.uk
