Parks and Amenities department

Hope you all had a lovely Easter break, although we were mainly stuck inside or confined to our gardens. (Mine has never look so well maintained!!)

We are working only on essentials at present.

We have been keeping toilets open 24/7 at Boscawen park, The Green and in the Leats mainly for users but to also cover those delivery drivers working through the night. The toilets in Victoria gardens are also open.

Sadly our play parks at Boscawen park, Hendra, Tremorvah, Redannick and Newbridge lane remain closed following Government guidance.

Truro Public cemetery is also closed to the public, due to Government guidance, but continues to open for funerals.

In our Nursery, due to a depleted work force, we have planted all hanging baskets, window boxes and hayracks so the town centre will be colourful for the summer.

We will be planting alternatives to bedding this year to fill our beds with colour and cheer. They will be sown with wildflowers, dahlias and some limited beds planted with vegetables.

We all hope to be back very soon to start cutting the grass and getting ready for a bumper summer in our parks and gardens.

Stay in, stay safe and save lives

Best wishes

Richard Budge

Parks and Amenities Manager
