Upon appointment Councillors agree to abide by a Code of Conduct and there are legal requirements governing the disclosure of interests. These are captured in Legal advice provided to Councils by the National Association of Local Councils (NALC). Click here to read this advice.

If a member of the public wishes to make a complaint against a Councillors that they have breached the code then the process is dealt with through a Cornwall Council procedure details of which can be found here There is also a process for granting dispensations which is required by the Localism Act 2011.
